What the demo shows you

Five things worth clicking through on first login. The CFO user sees everything across the BG.

  1. 1

A ZATCA-cleared sales invoice with QR code

Sales → Invoices → pick any invoice to Panda Retail Co.. The XML and QR code are generated, signed, and ready for the clearance handoff. The PDF shows the QR in the corner.

  2. 2

Auto-split 15% VAT on every transaction

Open any AR or AP transaction. Net, 15% VAT line, gross — all auto-split, posted to VAT Input/Output accounts via the SLA engine. No accountant copying lines.

  3. 3

A multi-currency import from Cairo Citrus Co.

AP → suppliers → Cairo Citrus Co.. Mango concentrate priced in EGP, landed-cost rolled into SAR inventory. FX captured at receipt.

  4. 4

Trace a batch of Oasis Mango Juice 1L

Inventory → Lots → any finished-goods lot. "Where used" shows the job order, raw materials issued, expiry date, and SFDA-relevant traceability fields.

  5. 5

Period close — 8 orchestrated steps

General Ledger → Period Close. Watch the costing close recalculate average cost, post WIP rollups, sweep uncosted issues, and auto-journal the lot — with crash recovery if any step fails.

The Saudi F&B landscape — what AION is built for

Saudi Arabia is the fastest-growing F&B market in MENA. With a 35-million-person population, the youngest median age in the GCC, and SAR 280 billion in annual F&B spend, demand for locally produced juice, dairy, bakery, and snack goods is climbing every quarter. Vision 2030 has accelerated this — NEOM, Red Sea Global, Diriyah Gate, and the World Cup 2034 build-out all push HORECA demand higher.

Three structural forces shape every Saudi F&B factory's books:

  • ZATCA Phase 2 e-invoicing is mandatory. Every B2B invoice needs an XML payload, a QR code, and clearance integration. The penalty for non-compliance is real and the rollout deadlines have been firm.
  • Saudization quotas (Nitaqat) pressure HR. Most F&B factories need 25–35% Saudi nationals. The seeded Oasis Fresh demo reflects this — 10 of 20 employees are Saudi nationals, including the CFO, HR Director, Plant Manager, and Sales Director.
  • Raw materials are largely imported. Concentrates from Egypt, Turkey, and Brazil. Packaging from UAE, Switzerland, Germany. This means multi-currency AP, FX exposure on landed cost, and the need for a costing engine that handles all of it without manual journals.

The Oasis Fresh demo BG is sized to a real Saudi F&B manufacturer — SAR 65M annual revenue, 12 finished-goods SKUs across juice, dairy, and water, 14 customers including Panda, Al-Othaim, BinDawood, Carrefour, Lulu, NEOM Hospitality, and Ritz-Carlton Riyadh. The numbers in the demo aren't placeholders.

What AION does that matters most in Saudi

ZATCA Phase 2 e-invoicing — native

Every sales invoice generates the ZATCA-format XML, embeds the QR code, signs the document, and is ready for clearance-provider handoff. No third-party plugin, no XML mapping spreadsheet — it's how the SLA engine posts.

SFDA-aligned lot traceability

Every batch carries manufacturer date, lot number, expiry, BOM source, and consumed raw material lots. "Where used" runs in both directions — recall any lot from any finished good back to the supplier shipment.

Multi-currency raw material costing

Concentrates from Egypt (EGP), Turkey (TRY), Brazil (BRL), Switzerland (CHF) all roll into SAR inventory at receipt FX. Landed cost includes freight, customs, and currency rate captured at the moment.

Bilingual Arabic / English UI

Saudi national finance staff toggle to Arabic; expat clerks stay in English. Reports render in either language. Accounting terminology is MSA, not auto-translated.

Costing engine for process F&B

Multi-level BOM rollup with phantom items (concentrate → bulk mix → bottled juice). Material usage, labor efficiency, and overhead variance posted automatically. WIP valuation per job order.

Local-first deployment available

For family-owned Saudi groups who don't want their financial data on US-region cloud infrastructure — run AION on your own servers. Same product, same updates, your hardware.

Compliance deep-dive

ZATCA Phase 2 — how AION handles it

Saudi Arabia mandates 15% VAT and ZATCA Phase 2 e-invoicing for all B2B and B2C transactions. Every invoice carries a QR code and is cleared with ZATCA via XML. AION generates the required XML, embeds the QR, and signs the document — handoff to the clearance provider is configurable.

Regulator: Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) · VAT rate: 15% · Format: ZATCA-PHASE2

Saudi factory ERP — common questions

Is AION certified by ZATCA as a clearance provider?

AION generates ZATCA-format e-invoices including the cryptographic signing, QR code embedding, and required XML structure. The clearance handoff to ZATCA's portal is configurable — you can integrate with any approved clearance provider, or use a direct submission if your business is registered for it. We don't gate that choice.

Can AION post Wage Protection System (WPS) payroll files?

The payroll module exports SAR-denominated salary lines and IBAN routing per employee. The WPS file format generation depends on your bank partner — AION provides the raw data; some banks accept it directly, others require their portal upload. We document which configuration your bank needs.

What about Saudization (Nitaqat) reporting?

Every employee record carries nationality, Saudi ID / Iqama, hire date, and salary. Pulling Nitaqat percentages is a single report. The seeded Oasis Fresh demo has the realistic 50% Saudi national mix — explore the HR module to see how the data flows.

Does AION handle multiple legal entities under one Saudi group?

Yes — Oasis Fresh demo includes the primary legal entity plus a sister Logistics & Distribution entity for intercompany flows. The MOAC (multi-org access control) model lets one user operate across both with proper books-of-record separation.

How long does a Saudi F&B factory typically take to go live?

Days, not months, when the chart of accounts is already configured for Saudi. AION ships with a ZATCA-aligned COA template, the e-invoicing config, and the SLA rules pre-mapped. The bulk of go-live time goes into your data migration — customers, suppliers, opening balances — not the system itself.
